Regular Car Reviews: 1990 Chevrolet Suburban

This is a car from the age of Grunge Music, live axles and red plush interior. The Suburban is not an SUV, not really. It is a work truck that happens to be inclosed. Like the Lincoln Town…

  1. These old square body Chevy and GMC trucks are timeless. Having fallen on some had times, my wife and I are currently living in my '86 GMC Suburban, with a 4" lift and 35" all-terrain tires. This thing is a midnight blue monster with a rebuilt 350 small block with an Edelbrock 4-barrel carb, K&N Performance air filter, and Flowmaster Dual Exhaust and her name is "Thunder" because she looks and sounds like a monster truck and it's the only vehicle I've ever received a noise complaint in… We ripped the second and third-row seats out and there's enough room for our Full-size mattress in the back and we cook meals on a propane stove on folding tables. We are actually so comfortable and free in this thing that we have decided to live in it full time and travel the country. Gas and insurance is a fraction of what we would pay for rent. Even with everything we own on this earth on top of the gross vehicle weight rating of 8600lbs, she is a fast son-of-a-bitch, and I surprise stuck up lead foot rice burners all the time. I can beat you in a race, up a mountain, pulling a trailer. Nothing stops this monster. God damn, I love my truck.

  2. Smoker windows yes i forgot about that. My dad had a 1988 red and silver two tone. I loved that car maybe ill get one for my self one day. They are not cheap in good condition.

  3. whenever i watch one of these, i always seem to add like 2 minutes or more to the end of the overall length cause parts keep making me laugh over other parts n have to play parts over again. 😈

  4. my family has had suburban since i was born. they been in my life since i can remmeber. 80s and up. and had one like this one. love them so much when i was 19 i bought a 99 suburban fixed it up real nice had it for 3 years sold it when i got tired of looking back at all rows empty. but still miss it.

  5. Single, high mounted break-lights were strictly prohibited in most of Europe until the late 1990's.
Imports from the US had to get the wiring to third brake lights cut and the lenses blacked out. This also applied to side-markers and cornering lights.
High mounted brake lights were only allowed in pairs, mounted inside the passenger compartment, behind the rear wind-shield.
