A Great Day of Owl Photography in Jackson Hole

Join me as I photograph a beautiful great gray owl in the woods of Jackson Hole. The owl was hunting and active, and found some nice light too!

  1. I'm so jealous. I've searched for owls for almost a year now. I start before sunrise till after sunset. Heard plenty of them, but can never find them to photograph them. I can find Eagles, every kind of hawk, Kestrel, herons, you name it. Just can't get an owl. I live in a prime spot too.

  2. Even a frame grab at 5:35 is spectacular. Contrasting textures and colors and hunting perched posture is fantastic. From this particular vlog I am motivated to put some practice time switching to video after exposure located in in M, Av, or Sh. When putting in the effort to lug the tripod around it is a shame to not get some video too.
