  1. Anyone who gets this car to drive on highway should NOT be allowed to drive at all. This car is very nice for in town/campus driving. I got this car for my GF who can't ride bicycle or motorcycle, but need to drive around college campus. I think it's a really nice car for its purpose. It's more like a safer motorcycle with roof.

  2. Maybe this clown car with the "roll cage" inside can stand the impact at 70mph, HOWEVER, a person's internal organs do not fair so wonderfully. The internal damage in the human body would kill the driver on impact. They don't call it a clown car for nothing.

  3. Uhh…. it's nice that the interior of the Smart is intact, but do you have any idea what kind of force is working on you if you decelerates from 70 mph to 0 in less than a second? With normal cars and their comparably huge crumple zones you decelerate much slower, they may stretch that deceleration phase over a full second, resulting in a deceleration force of about 3g. Still not very comfortable but at least manageable.

The roughly quarter second the Smart has means that you will endure stress in excess of 10g. That's 10 times your weight pushing you against belt and airbag.

Ponder for a moment how a ton of weight would work on you.
