  1. i was 18when this song came out smokinga big splif and listen to this now more than 25 +years later smoking a big splif with the same song and it still sounds dope like back in the days

  2. When you can't listen to the rest of the song and just keep repeating the first part because a 17 year old's verse was out of this fucking world. That's how you know you are a fucking LEGEND.

  3. So then Nas's entire verse from the song magically appears on Illmatic? It's great and everything, but did he included it because of lack of inspiration or was it because his contribution to this track was simply underrepresented? It sounds better on Illmatic wherein it is probably housed by equally infectious verses from the master (I would have to start doing some serious research to confirm and unfortunately I am a good number of sheets to the wind right now). I guess if I asked a question it would be: Would Nas have done better to write up a new verse, or to keep this piece of classic emceeing? As a writer and when you KNOW you want to quash an old verse the chance of you doing that is slim to none so I go for the lift.
